Scarecrow Festival

Leveraging the stunning autumn foliage and cooler weather, the Scarecrow Festival transforms the town into a whimsical, highly photogenic spectacle. Scheduled for September 26 – October 13, the festival coincides with the latter part of the cruising season.

  • Over 250 life-size, handcrafted scarecrows posed in whimsical vignettes
  • Themes ranging from classic Halloween figures to pop-culture icons
  • Scarecrow Village Market with local artisans and crafters

Season of Father Christmas

Operating from November 28 – December 24, this winter festival sustains the local economy after the marina's haul-out phase. While recreational boating is dormant, the festival ensures the terrestrial hospitality and retail sectors remain financially robust.

Winter festivities include:

  • Over 100 uniquely crafted Father Christmas figures throughout town
  • Horse-drawn wagon rides along the waterfront
  • Elf scavenger hunts for families
  • Late-night shopping events with special merchant offers
  • Warm hospitality and festive ambiance in every shop and inn
